Our Point of View
Our Point of View
We view our world through the “lens of the Bible” which we believe to be the infallible and authoritative Word of God. All scripture is inspired by God, reliable for correcting, reproving, and instructing us on how God wants us to truly live.
God
We believe that there is only one God who has revealed Himself in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three persons are the same being with the same nature and character and exist in perfect unity eternally.
Man
Man was made in the image of God as the supreme object of God’s creation. Through disobedience to God, man forfeited the glory, intimacy and blessing God intended mankind to possess. Sickness, death and judgment entered into the world causing man to experience the consequences of sin. This “sin” separates man from God.
Jesus Christ
Jesus is God and the second person of the Godhead. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, Mary, and lived a sinless human life walking on the earth as both God and man. He was crucified on a cross to be the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind, then resurrected from the dead, and is now alive today in the presence of God the Father and in His people.
Salvation
Salvation is a gift of grace from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ and his offer of forgiveness can man be saved from the penalty of sin. Eternal life begins the moment one repents, believes and receives Jesus Christ into his life as Savior and Lord.
Holy Spirit
Every believer in Jesus Christ can be baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit. This baptism of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4, is poured out on believers so that they may have power to be witnesses. We believe these scriptures confirm the initial evidence of this experience to be speaking with other tongues as the “Spirit gives the utterance.” Through His indwelling presence, the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit also helps the believer live holy and minister super-naturally. We believe in the operation of all nine gifts of the Spirit and encourage our people to live, so these gifts may be manifested in their lives
Baptisms and Communion
We practice both water baptisms and communion as instructed in the scriptures. Baptisms are a public act used to identify our lives with Christ; first with His death and then with His resurrection into new life. Communion is a time of deep reflection and recommitment to Jesus and to His Church.
Divine Healing
The victorious redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of sickness and disease. We believe in divine healing for the body, the lying on of hands and welcome the gifts of healing in our midst. Never, however, do we condemn medical science.
The Church
We believe in the universal church of believers that consists of local churches throughout the world. The Church exists to execute the ministry of Jesus Christ, advancing the kingdom of God through lives of love and service. Mantled with love we disciple the nations by undoing the works of darkness, and teaching them to love and obey God. Every Christian needs to be connected to such “a church” where they can serve others and their community in a tangible way.
Freedom of Worship
We believe in passionately loving and glorifying Jesus and celebrating the presence of the Holy Spirit in our corporate gatherings. We welcome every form of expression being done decently and in order: clapping, lifting hands, dancing, and the singing of spontaneous songs. We follow the anointing of the Holy Spirit through the five-fold leadership present in our gatherings.
The Blessing
Through Jesus Christ the blessing promised to Abraham has come upon all who believe. (Galatians 3:14) We belong to Christ and are Abraham’s seed. (Galatians 3:29) In Christ we are all sons of God by faith (Galatians 3:26) and have inherited Abraham’s blessing of financial prosperity. As royal sons and daughters of God, our full inheritance includes freedom from poverty, giving us the capacity to have all of our needs met through “His riches in glory.” (Philippians 4:19) The blessing enables us to generously and audaciously care for the poor, the widow, the orphan and ministry works, thereby fulfilling the requirements of “true religion.” (James 1:27)
Family
We believe in the sacredness of marriage between one man and one woman and family commitment. The biblical model of family is the strong foundation of the Church and our society and its values are promoted among us. Jesus “heals the brokenhearted” then sets them in the family of God where they can receive the Father’s love and be restored from the wounds of a broken family.
Our Blessed Hope
The ever increasing government of God on the earth will usher in the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ for His overcoming Bride, His Church. According to the Bible, there is a heaven and there is a hell. There will be a resurrection of the saved, those in Christ, to everlasting life and a resurrection of the lost, those outside of Christ, to everlasting death.
